What is Tranzon and what does the company do? +

Tranzon is a national network of professional real estate auctioneers dedicated to a better way to buy and sell property. We specialize in the accelerated sale of commercial, residential, land, and premier properties through transparent, competitive auctions conducted online, live on-site, or both simultaneously.

Tranzon represents sellers exclusively. Every auction Tranzon conducts is designed to achieve one outcome: the best possible result for the seller, delivered with integrity, local expertise, and the full resources of a national organization.

How long has Tranzon been in business? +

Tranzon was founded in 2000, making it one of the most established real estate auction networks in the country with more than 25 years of operation. Several of the company's founding members remain active today, and Tranzon counts multi-generational auction professionals among its team — a testament to the culture and longevity of the organization.

Over its history Tranzon has conducted tens of thousands of successful auctions across nearly every property type, market condition, and seller situation imaginable. That depth of experience informs every consultation, every marketing strategy, and every auction Tranzon conducts today.

Note: Tranzon's member companies bring their own histories and local reputations to the network. The collective experience of the Tranzon team exceeds 300 years — a figure that reflects not just the company's age, but the depth of expertise its professionals carry into every client engagement.

How many auctions does Tranzon conduct? +

Over the last two years Tranzon has conducted more than 300 auctions annually, with a strong majority of those auctions resulting in a completed sale and closing. That reflects not just auction activity but successful transactions — properties that sold, closed, and delivered results for their sellers.

Over the history of the company, Tranzon has conducted tens of thousands of auctions across commercial, residential, land, and premier property categories, in nearly every market condition from peak markets to economic downturns.

Where does Tranzon operate? +

Tranzon's member companies are licensed to operate across the United States, and Tranzon has sold properties in 49 states as well as internationally. While Tranzon does not have offices in every state, its national reach — combined with a strong network of professionals across the industry — means that buyers and sellers across the country can participate in Tranzon auctions regardless of location.

Each Tranzon member company is independently owned and operated, licensed in the states where they practice, and deeply rooted in their local markets. This gives Tranzon a unique combination of local expertise and national resources.

For specific licensing information by state, visit the Licenses and Disclosures page on Tranzon.com .

Note: Can't find a Tranzon office near you? Contact Tranzon directly — a member company can assist you even if they are not physically located nearby. Online auctions and cooperative alliances make geography far less of a barrier than it once was.

What is a Tranzon member company? +

A Tranzon member company is an independently owned and operated real estate auction firm that operates under the Tranzon brand and is bound by Tranzon's shared Code of Conduct, culture standards, and brand guidelines.

Each member company:

  • Is independently owned and operated by local real estate auction professionals
  • Holds its own real estate and auctioneer licenses in the states where it operates
  • Has agreed to uphold Tranzon's Code of Conduct in every client engagement
  • Has access to Tranzon's national marketing resources, technology platform, and buyer database
  • Operates under the Tranzon brand while maintaining its own identity and relationships

When you work with a Tranzon member company, you get a professional who knows your market personally — backed by the infrastructure, reputation, and reach of a national organization.

Note: Member company names typically follow the format "Tranzon [Local Name]" — for example, Tranzon Key or Tranzon Auction Properties. The local name reflects the firm's independent identity within the Tranzon network.

Are all Tranzon companies independently owned and operated? +

Yes. Every Tranzon member company is independently owned and operated. Tranzon LLC is the franchisor and brand standards organization — it sets the Code of Conduct, culture expectations, brand guidelines, and shared technology platform that all member companies use. But each member company is its own business with its own ownership and staff, and is responsible for licensing and compliance.

This structure is intentional. It ensures that every client works with a local professional who has genuine roots in their community and real knowledge of their market — while also benefiting from the national resources, buyer database, and brand recognition that Tranzon provides.

Standards & Credentials

What professional standards does Tranzon uphold? +

Tranzon holds its member companies, employees, and independent contractors to a written Code of Conduct that governs every client engagement. The Code is not aspirational — it is a binding commitment that all Tranzon participants have agreed to uphold, and Tranzon has stated publicly that it will maintain these standards even when doing so results in economic loss or foregone profit.

The core commitments in Tranzon's Code of Conduct include:

  • Treating all constituents — sellers, buyers, employees, and fellow professionals — with dignity and respect
  • Dealing honestly and forthrightly with all parties at all times
  • Never bidding at Tranzon's own auctions except as disclosed in the Terms and Conditions
  • Never allowing sellers to bid on their own properties except where legally permissible
  • Conducting all business in a professional manner in dress and conduct
  • Providing a safe and supportive work environment for all team members

Tranzon's culture statements further define the expectations for every team member: maintaining the highest level of professionalism, operating with absolute integrity, treating people like family, outworking the competition, and always acting in the best interest of the client — regardless of the financial outcome for Tranzon.

Is Tranzon a member of any professional associations? +

Yes. Tranzon is a corporate member of the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) National Auction Association (NAA), the primary professional organization for the auction industry in the United States. The NAA sets ethical standards and professional development requirements for auctioneers nationwide.

Tranzon is also a sponsor of both the National Auction Association and the National Auction Foundation (NAF) , reflecting the company's investment in the long-term health and professionalism of the auction industry beyond its own operations.

Individual Tranzon team members hold a range of professional designations including CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute), AARE (Accredited Auctioneer Real Estate), AMM (Auction Marketing Magangement) and state-specific real estate broker and auctioneer licenses. Additionally, Tranzon counts multiple past presidents of both the National Auction Association and Foundation, and three members of the NAA Hall of Fame among its members. We also have multiple members who have served on their national and local boards of realtors.

Note: Professional designations vary by team member and member company. Your local Tranzon advisor can share their specific credentials and licensing information.

Where can I find Tranzon's licensing information? +

Tranzon maintains a Licenses and Disclosures page on Tranzon.com that lists firm licenses by state. Because each Tranzon member company is independently licensed in the states where it operates, licensing information is specific to each firm.

Individual team members may hold licenses in additional states beyond those listed for their firm. If you have a question about licensing in a specific state, contact Tranzon directly or reach out to the member company serving your area.

State-specific legal disclosures are also included in all Tranzon marketing materials and on every property listing page, in compliance with applicable state laws and regulations.

What is Tranzon's Code of Conduct and why does it matter? +

Tranzon's Code of Conduct is a written set of binding standards that every Tranzon franchisee, employee, independent contractor, and member has agreed to uphold. It is not a marketing statement — it is an enforceable commitment with real consequences.

What makes the Code meaningful is a single principle at its core: Tranzon will uphold these standards even when doing so causes economic loss or results in foregone profit. That commitment — putting client and ethical obligations ahead of financial outcome — is rare in any industry and foundational to how Tranzon operates.

For sellers, the Code means you can trust that your Tranzon advisor is acting in your best interest, not their own. For buyers, it means the auction process is conducted with transparency and integrity. For the industry, it means Tranzon holds itself to a standard that elevates the profession.

Important: The Code of Conduct applies to all Tranzon participants — franchisees are responsible for ensuring that everyone they employ or contract with is capable of and willing to uphold it.

Working With Tranzon

What types of real estate does Tranzon sell at auction? +

Tranzon sells a wide range of real estate across the country, including:

  • Commercial — office buildings, retail centers, industrial facilities, mixed-use properties, former financial institution properties, and development sites
  • Residential — single-family homes, condominiums, multi-family properties, and vacation homes
  • Premier — luxury, historic, waterfront, mountaintop, and executive properties requiring specialized marketing and a discerning buyer audience
  • Land — undeveloped parcels, agricultural land, recreational properties, timberland, and entitled development sites

Tranzon also specializes in portfolio and multi-property auctions, where a single seller has multiple assets to sell — including institutional portfolio dispositions, bankruptcy and receivership sales, and estate liquidations involving multiple properties.

If you are unsure whether your property is a good candidate for auction, contact a local Tranzon advisor for a free, no-obligation property evaluation.

Who does Tranzon work with — buyers, sellers, or both? +

Tranzon works with both buyers and sellers, but represents sellers exclusively.

For sellers — individuals, estates, trusts, financial institutions, corporations, bankruptcy practitioners, and other property owners — Tranzon provides full-service auction representation, from initial consultation through closing.

For buyers — investors, owner-occupants, developers, real estate professionals, and anyone interested in purchasing property through auction — Tranzon provides a transparent, competitive marketplace with access to properties across the country.

Buyers participate freely and are not required to have outside representation to bid or purchase. The process is designed to be fair and accessible to all qualified bidders. However, Tranzon's advisors represent the seller in every transaction — buyers who want representation are welcome to engage their own real estate agent.

Note: The agency disclosure on every Tranzon listing states this clearly: the member company acting as auctioneer and agent is an agent for the seller only. Transparency about representation is a foundational part of how Tranzon operates.

What makes Tranzon different from other auction companies? +

Several things distinguish Tranzon from other real estate auction providers

  • Seller representation only — Tranzon represents sellers exclusively, with no conflict of interest between buyer and seller relationships. Every strategy is designed around one goal: the best outcome for the seller.
  • Local and regional expertise backed by national resources — Tranzon's independently owned member companies bring genuine local market knowledge, community relationships, and state-specific licensing, supported by Tranzon's national marketing platform, buyer database, and technology infrastructure.
  • A binding Code of Conduct — Tranzon's commitment to ethical standards is written, enforceable, and explicitly states that Tranzon will uphold its standards even at financial cost to itself. That is not a common commitment in any industry.
  • 25+ years of experience — Founded in 2000, Tranzon has operated through multiple market cycles, economic conditions, and industry changes. Founding members are still active today.
  • Proven performance — Over the last two years, more than 300 auctions annually, with a vast majority closed. Tens of thousands of successful transactions over the company's history.
  • The Market-Making System SM — Tranzon's proprietary methodology for the accelerated sale of real estate, combining customized marketing, a national buyer database, and competitive auction mechanics to deliver optimal results on a timeline the seller controls.

Ultimately, what distinguishes Tranzon is its people. The culture that binds the network together, integrity, professionalism, hard work, and genuine care for clients, is not something that can be replicated by a platform or an algorithm.
